I Made You a Mix Tape
Before Spotify, before playlists, before algorithms decided what you’d love, there was the mix tape. Handmade. Personal.
My friend Lisa had a ‘77 Cutlass with a @zztop Tres Hombres cassette permanently lodged in the deck. Not stuck like a problem, stuck like a vibe. We didn’t fight it. We just turned it up. Sharp Dressed Men, La Grange, Jesus Just Left Chicago on repeat, windows down, going nowhere in particular and everywhere that mattered.
This one’s for every car that smelled like sunscreen and french fries, and every friend who knew exactly what you needed to hear before you did.
